Hello!

At From the Heart, you’ll find a compassionate space to explore, heal, and grow, whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family.
I'm Renu, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). With over 25 years of experience in educational and community settings, I offer compassionate, evidence-informed therapy tailored to each client’s unique needs. I work with children and youth navigating emotional, social, or behavioural challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in safety and trust, while also being direct in a supportive way. I believe in being clear and honest, helping young people feel both seen and guided as they build confidence and resilience.
For individuals, therapy offers a non-judgemental space to work through stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity, or burnout. Together, we focus on clarity, connection, and building the tools for lasting change.
In couples therapy, I help partners strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and reconnect. Whether you're facing challenges or simply feeling distant, therapy can be a meaningful step toward deeper understanding and renewed intimacy. No matter your story, I meet you where you are, with care, curiosity, and respect.
Let’s work together to create the change you’re looking for.
Why Work With Me?
With over two decades of experience supporting children, families, and professionals, I bring both depth and heart to the therapy space. I understand that seeking therapy is a brave and personal step, and I’m here to meet you with empathy, respect, and genuine care. My approach is grounded in compassion, self-awareness, and a belief in each person’s capacity to heal and grow. I offer a calm, supportive environment where you can explore life’s challenges, whether it’s anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship issues, or navigating transitions.
What sets my practice apart is a commitment to individualised care. No two journeys are the same. I believe in honest conversations, thoughtful reflection, and practical strategies that support real, lasting change. Whether you're looking to better understand yourself, support your child, strengthen your relationships, or simply feel more grounded, I'm here to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll create space for healing, clarity, and connection, one step, and one kind conversation, at a time.
Supporting Families in Special Education
With extensive experience in education and Special Education, I am here to guide families through the complexities of the system. Whether you're navigating your child’s psycho-educational assessment, understanding their Individual Education Plan (IEP), or preparing for the transition to post-secondary education, I can provide the support you need. I work closely with families to ensure that these critical documents are understood and that your child’s unique needs are addressed in a proactive and supportive manner.
My goal is to help you navigate the system with clarity, compassion, and confidence, ensuring that your child receives the support they deserve.
The Power of "Both Can Be True"
Both Can Be True...
My mission is simple: to live one kind conversation or act at a time. I strive to create a more compassionate and understanding world, one conversation at a time. I recognize the challenges that come with being a racialized individual in a system that often doesn’t understand or support people like me. I know how vital it is to create inclusive spaces for everyone, including LGBTQ+ individuals, two-spirit identities, and those affected by ableism. I want to help my clients find their voice, heal, and move forward in life.
And Both Can Be True...
"I show up for others while continuing to heal myself." This work is deeply personal. I am here because I have been held, guided, and encouraged by those who saw me through, my doctors, nurse practitioner, social worker, and therapist. Their care gave me the courage to take accountability for my happiness, my survival, and my joy. Their impact lives in the way I now hold space for others.
Helping Others Find Their Voice
Through therapy, I strive to help my clients find their voice, whether they’ve been silenced by past trauma, external expectations, or their own self-doubt. I understand how important it is to feel empowered in your own skin, and I work to support you in reclaiming your authentic self.

Life is filled with challenges, but I believe healing and growth are always possible. Therapy isn’t just about addressing the difficult moments; it’s also about recognizing the beauty and progress that can emerge from overcoming them. Together, we’ll work to enhance your quality of life, reflect on your experiences, and help you reconnect with your authentic self.
Throughout our work together, I will support you in gaining self-awareness, healing, and achieving your goals. Psychotherapy is a collaborative journey, and in a safe, compassionate space, we will explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours to foster personal growth and well-being.
To take the next step in your journey, please feel free to text, call, or email me to book a consultation. I look forward to connecting with you.
